This neat, quick treatment for straighter teeth is an ideal option if you’re not keen on the idea of wearing unsightly braces. It offers a more subtle alternative by using clear brackets and discreet tooth coloured wires to gently straighten teeth,.
What are the benefits?
As well as being less noticeable, one of the main advantages of Six Month Smiles® is its short treatment time. However, despite the speed at which teeth can be straightened, the system uses low forces to move teeth gently, focusing on how your teeth will look rather than the position of your bite. This means it is no more painful and has a lower risk of root damage than traditional braces.
What does treatment involve?
- We will assess your teeth to check if they can be repositioned and, if so, we will devise a treatment plan and take impressions so your braces will fit perfectly.
- Custom made brackets and wires will then be produced at the Six Month Smiles® laboratory using models made from the impressions.
- When ready, the brackets are fixed in place with a dental adhesive and the orthodontic wires attached.
- Once fitted, you will need to come and see us on a monthly basis so we can check how your teeth are moving and adjust the brace as required.
Aftercare
As with any tooth straightening procedure, you will need to wear a retainer following treatment to keep your newly positioned teeth in place.
