The main difference between cosmetic bonding and veneers often lies in the amount of tooth covered and the materials used. Bonding uses resin material which is directly applied to your natural tooth, making it easily removable and repairable. It can also be used for smaller areas of damage. Veneers are thin, custom-made shells made in a dental lab from porcelain material. They completely cover the front surface of a tooth, but do require a small amount of natural enamel to be removed. Composite veneers can also be considered, which work in a similar way to composite bonding.
