White Fillings
White (composite) fillings offer an attractive alternative to unsightly amalgam fillings by blending in with your teeth. They are suitable for either the front or back teeth and will support the remaining structure of a damaged tooth to help prevent further breakage and sensitivity to temperature.
What are the benefits?
The chief benefit of composite fillings is their aesthetic appeal and though traditionally considered less durable than amalgam fillings, they are now made from hardwearing materials and can prove long lasting.
What does treatment involve?
- We will prepare a composite resin and layer it carefully on to the decayed area.
- It is then expertly shaped to fit the tooth and polished to prevent staining.
- These cosmetic fillings are more difficult to place than normal fillings so treatment may take a little longer.
